ABOUT ME

Alexa Yeonas graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, school of the arts with a degree in fashion design. She moved to NYC shortly after and began freelancing and interning for designers in the garment district, doing anything she could to get some experience under her belt. In December of 2015 she landed a job as a design assistant at Joe Fresh. It was there that Alexa really learned the ins and outs of textile design and got first hand experience communicating directly with factories overseas, designing jacquards and embroideries, working with cross functional teams and was later promoted. In 2018 she accepted a job at Ann Taylor Factory. The ATF team had previously outsourced all textile design so Alexa was tasked with setting up the department, structuring work flow and creating organized systems. She managed a small team and worked closely with the design director to develop seasonal print and color stories. In 2021 she left Ann Taylor Factory as the in-house artist to pursue more freelance opportunities. Alexa works on print development across multiple product categories, for apparel and home, for companies big and small.
